Children with dyslexia can learn to read well. They need the right kind of teaching. Intervention teaches the sounds, letter patterns, syllables and fluency skills that make reading and spelling work, one step at a time.
- Starts from your child’s data. We use evaluation results to know exactly where to begin.
- Explicit and step by step. Each skill is taught directly and practiced until it sticks, then the next one builds on it.
- Progress you can see. We monitor progress throughout the program and keep you updated.
- Connected to school. We can coordinate with your child’s IEP or 504 supports when you want us to.
Tutoring usually helps with schoolwork. Intervention rebuilds the reading skills underneath that work, in a planned sequence.

“I can not express how much Ms. McKelvey, helped me understand my son's IEP, and helped me get ready for his ARD meeting. She guided me and I discussed with her what was most important that I wanted to ask in the ARD meeting? She helped me through it. Also, there's a few things that she asked if I was concerned of certain things and I didn't even think about even asking the teachers, but I'm so thankful that she pointed that out to me. My son is doing amazing.”C.B.Parent · IEP review, evaluation & parent guidance
