Questions parents often ask
How much does an evaluation or service cost?
Every case is unique. The right evaluation or support depends on your child’s age, needs and questions, so we don’t list one-size-fits-all prices. We’ll talk through options and costs on your free consultation, with no obligation.
Can I use my TEFA funds?
LearnWell is an approved Texas Education Freedom Account provider. Bring your questions to the consultation, and we’ll go over which services qualify and how payment works.
How do I know if my child needs testing, intervention, or meeting support?
You don’t have to figure that out on your own. Tell us what you’re noticing, and we’ll recommend the best place to start. That might be one service or a combination.
What happens during an evaluation?
Your child works one-on-one with Audrey on a set of tasks covering thinking, reading, writing, math and attention, depending on the questions we’re answering. We keep the pace comfortable and take breaks as needed. Afterward you receive a written report and a feedback meeting to go over the results.
Can I share the report with my child’s school?
Yes. The report is yours to share. Schools consider outside evaluations as part of their own decision-making, and we can help you understand how to present the results at an ARD or 504 meeting.
How is dyslexia intervention different from tutoring?
Tutoring usually helps with current schoolwork. Intervention teaches the underlying reading and spelling skills directly and in order, so reading becomes easier across every subject.
Where do appointments take place?
Testing and intervention take place by appointment at our private office in Midland. It isn’t open for drop-ins, and we’ll share details when you schedule. We serve Midland, Odessa and the Permian Basin, with families across Texas. [Audrey to confirm: which services are available virtually]
Have TEFA funds? You may be able to use them here.
LearnWell is an approved Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA) provider. If your family has a TEFA account, ask us during your consultation. We’ll explain which services can be paid with your funds and walk you through the steps. [Audrey to confirm: which services are TEFA-eligible]
